Keep Clear Access to Meters

Our meter readers need clear access to your meter dials to get an accurate reading. While you're working on your lawn this summer, be sure to trim bushes and trees around your utility meters. If you're adding new plants to your landscape, be aware of the type, size, and potential growth pattern. New plants placed close together might look great when they're still young, but can become a jungle as they grow. Fencing can make an attractive addition to your property, too, but be careful to keep your meter dials in easy sight even if you try to hide unsightly meters and pipes.

Be Alert!

Ask for Identification

Besides flowers and sunshine, warm weather also brings an increase in the number of incidents involving people who try to pass themselves off as our employees.

Sometimes our representatives do need to enter your home to perform services such as reading an indoor meter, responding to emergencies, or connecting gas service. If one of our employees comes to your home unannounced, it's most likely to notify you of work in the area that might shut off service temporarily, meter problems, or possible danger.

Be alert! All of our employees carry company photo identification. Ask to see it before allowing anyone who claims to be a utility representative into your home.

If you're still unsure after seeing the ID, please call us to confirm that the person at your door is one of our employees. If you suspect an impersonator, notify the police immediately.

Sharing Concern for Pets

If you have pets inside or outside your home, please restrict them on days our meter reader or service person visits your home. The date of your next scheduled meter reading appears on your monthly bill.

ItĚs important that pets stay clear of the entrance and exit path as well as the work area. If you have invisible electric fencing in your yard, our employee might not suspect that a pet could be nearby.

We share your love and respect of animals and want to protect their safety while we perform the work quickly and efficiently.
