Once you determine that net metering is an option you wish to pursue:
If you do not wish to net meter, please complete the application for interconnection and return the completed form electronically to electricinterconnect@nisource.com or by mail to NIPSCO - Electric Interconnect, 801 East 86th Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410.
Your application request for net metering and interconnection will be entered into our system and we will verify your current credit with NIPSCO.
- If your account is more than thirty (30) days in arrears or there are legal orders outstanding pertaining to NIPSCO, you will be notified by letter of ineligibility.
- If your account is no more than thirty (30) days in arrears and does not have any legal orders outstanding pertaining to NIPSCO:
- An on-site visit will be set up with you to determine if you are technically eligible for net metering.
- If you are determined to be technically eligible, NIPSCO will send you a completed General Rule Net Metering Purchase Agreement for you to sign and return to NIPSCO - Electric Interconnect, 801 East 86th Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410.

It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that customers NOT purchase any generation equipment until they have been determined technically eligible for net metering.
