Integrated Resource Plan
NIPSCO submits an Integrated Resource Plan (“IRP”) to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (“IURC”) every two years.
The IRP is our strategy for the next 20 years for meeting the future energy needs of our customers with cost-effective, reliable and sustainable supplies of electricity while addressing the inherent uncertainties and risks that exist in the electric utility industry
NIPSCO will submit its 2016 IRP to the IURC by November 1, 2016.
2016 Integrated Resource Plan
As part of the process, NIPSCO is soliciting relevant information for inclusion in its IRP. NIPSCO invites interested stakeholders to provide information for consideration in the development of NIPSCO's IRP. The stakeholder meetings offer a valuable opportunity for NIPSCO to hear your ideas and concerns.
NIPSCO’s first 2016 IRP stakeholder meeting was held on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Demand Side Management Market Potential Study
In October 2015, NIPSCO hired Applied Energy Group (AEG) to conduct a Demand Side Management (DSM) Market Potential Study. The purpose of Market Potential Studies is to estimate the energy efficiency resource potential in a specific area, such as a service territory for a utility. AEG utilized information and data from NIPSCO, in addition to secondary data sources, to describe how customers use energy by sector (Residential, Commercial, Industrial), segment, end use (appliances), and technology. The Market Potential Study ultimately provides NIPSCO will an estimate of the potential amount of reductions that could be made by implementing energy efficiency programs in its service territory.
