Demand Side Management Market Potential Study
In October 2015, NIPSCO hired Applied Energy Group (AEG) to conduct a Demand Side Management (DSM) Market Potential Study. The purpose of Market Potential Studies is to estimate the energy efficiency resource potential in a specific area, such as a service territory for a utility. AEG utilized information and data from NIPSCO, in addition to secondary data sources, to describe how customers use energy by sector (Residential, Commercial, Industrial), segment, end use (appliances), and technology. The Market Potential Study ultimately provides NIPSCO with an estimate of the potential amount of reductions that could be made by implementing energy efficiency programs in its service territory.
