Inclusion & Diversity Council

The mission of NIPSCO’s Inclusion & Diversity Council is to cultivate and advance an inclusive environment for all NIPSCO employees by recognizing, valuing and celebrating the differences among our workforce, our customers, and our communities to achieve our business objectives.

About the Council
The council is sponsored by a steering committee, which includes senior level management. This 30 member group represents all operating units across NIPSCO and includes participants from management to front line employees.

The council meets on a monthly basis to develop a company-wide strategic plan to further integrate inclusion and diversity practices and procedures throughout the company. The Inclusion & Diversity Council is comprised of six sub teams focused on the following areas:

  • Organization
  • Customer/Community Awareness
  • Supplier Diversity
  • Employee Awareness
  • Training
  • Talent Acquisition & Retention

Each sub team meets monthly, or more, and is responsible for evaluating current practices and procedures to identify areas of improvement and recommend actionable items.
