I think I made a mistake on my meter reading. Can I resubmit it?

Unfortunately, once you have submitted your monthly meter reading, you cannot resubmit it through the Meter Reading Form. You will need to call us at 1-800-4NIPSCO (1-800-464-7726) and we can resubmit it for you.

I missed my meter reading window this month. What is going to happen?

You will receive an estimated bill. Your next reading will help us to accurately true up your account balance, i.e., if you overpaid in the previous month’s estimate, a credit will be applied to this month’s balance, or if you underpaid in the previous month’s estimate, the additional difference will be added to next month’s balance.

What happens if I don't report my meter readings for multiple months?

If you fail to report three consecutive months of readings, we will automatically remove you from the Self Read Program.

I don't want to report my own readings anymore. What can I do?

To remove yourself from the Self Read Program, call us at 1-800-4NIPSCO (1-800-464-7726). Alternatively, if you fail to report your meter readings for three consecutive months, you will automatically be removed from the program.

If I don't report my meter reading, how does the company know how much energy I've used?

We estimate your meter based on historical usage at your property.

Have an emergency?

Natural Gas: If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, have carbon monoxide symptoms or have some other gas emergency situation, go outside and call 911 and thenour emergency number 1-800-634-3524.

Electric: For any electric emergency including a power outage or other electric-related situation, please call  1-800-464-7726. If you see a downed power line, stay away and immediately call 911 and then our emergency number.
