Fundamental Progress at La Porte Business Parks

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

ED Impact earlier reported on the commission’s hiring of Holladay Properties to handle marketing and oversight of some construction. At the same time, the commission began accepting bids for the major improvements needed at the NewPorte Landing location. The La Porte-based Rieth-Riley Construction Company’s $7.237 million bid for the infrastructure project at NewPorte Landing includes constructing roads and utility at the 150-acre park. The company will begin work in June and expects for work to be completed by late 2016.

Rieth-Riley Construction was also selected to implement improvements at the Thomas Rose Industrial Park. Due to growing demand for space, that park is currently being expanded by 137 acres. Rail service is also coming soon.  Rieth-Riley’s bid was $1.105 million, which includes utilities only in the city’s portion of the development.
