Kokomo Opens Co-Working Space

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Co-working spaces have been spreading as jobs move out of the office and internet connectivity and the gig economy allow unprecedented entrepreneurship opportunities.

Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance President Charlie Sparksdescribed the addition of this co-working space as key to his organization’s strategy for the territory. “Creating a community that’s entrepreneur friendly makes it easier to attract and retain employers and businesses and contributes to the area’s quality of life.” Start-ups and individuals alike now not only have access to necessary resources to develop their business, but can do so in a professional, collaborative environment too.

As a member of the Shared Drive, entrepreneurs and freelancers of all types have access to meeting areas, conference rooms, non-dedicated desks, a variety of work areas and even lounge areas.

Other features include:

  • Solid fiber and WiFi connections
  • Copy/print/scan capabilities
  • Secure storage lockers
  • Coffee bar
  • CAD lab
  • Mail room with personalized mail slots

To make access to all of these resources readily available, membership is only $40 a month (there is also a discount for students) on a month-to-month basis. Year long passes are also available. Members are also invited to all of Inventrek’s programs and networking events.
