Top 10, Again and Again

The Pollina Corporate Top Ten Pro-Business States Report, published in partnership with the American Economic Development Institute, uses 32 factors influenced or controlled by the state government to determine its rankings. This year, the report puts Indiana number one among its immediate neighbors and number three out of the entire nation.

This is the twelfth year for this study. Factors that contributed to the rankings include energy costs, taxes, education, resources, Right-to-Work legislation, infrastructure spending, economic incentive programs and many more. In 2014, Indiana was ranked 7th overall.

The Pollina Corporate Top 10 Pro-Business States are:

  2. Nebraska
  3. Indiana
  4. Virginia
  5. Kansas
  6. North Dakota
  7. North Carolina
  8. Wyoming
  9. Missouri
  10. Michigan

Forbes also published their own analysis of states’ business climates recently, placing Indiana in the top 10 overall. In subcategories, Forbes put Indiana 2nd for regulatory environment and 6th for quality of life. Recognized at 8th overall, Indiana has again shown progress; last year, Forbes ranked the state at 15th.
