The 51st lieutenant governor of Indiana, Eric Holcomb, took his oath of office in early March just hours after being confirmed by the Indiana House and Senate. Previously serving as chairman of the Indiana Republican Party, Holcomb ended his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in February when he was offered the lt. governor’s position by Governor Pence. Holcomb replaces Ellspermann who stepped down from her elected office, with Gov. Mike Pence's blessing, to pursue the Ivy Tech presidency.

Jim Staton, business recruitment director for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, was named one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers, according to an annual list created by Consultant Connect. The ranking is meant to recognize economic development and site consulting professionals for excellent practices, innovation and success in building the communities they serve.
