Familiar Faces in New Places

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

NIPSCO employee Eddie Melton has been elected to the Indiana state senate and the DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership has announced Anton King as the Partnership’s new executive director.

NIPSCO Public Affairs Manager of Governmental and Community Relations Eddie Melton was elected to represent Indiana’s third district in the state senate. “We are incredibly proud of our teammate for his election to the state senate,” said Larry Graham, executive director of Communications and Public Affairs for NIPSCO. “Eddie has shown his care for our community and our customers through his work, and I have no doubt that he will only build on those qualities in his new role.” Melton plans to focus on infrastructure and early childhood education. The Indiana General Assembly is a part-time legislature, and Melton will continue as part of the NIPSCO Public Affairs team.

Following former director Ken McCrory’s retirement, the DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership search committee has found a new director in former intern Anton King. “Anton has been a valuable asset to the ED partnership since he began as an intern,” said Amy Demske, board president. “He jumped in with enthusiasm and has helped promote DeKalb County on a new level.” Before this, King worked for the partnership as a project specialist.
