Governor Holcomb Honors Centenarian Businesses

Governor Holcomb recently honored 34 Indiana businesses for both longevity and service to employees, community and to the state. Of those 34, 21 of them are located in Northern Indiana.

 “Today, we honor Indiana businesses that have withstood the test of time, helping to drive Indiana’s economy forward,” Gov. Holcomb said. “I am thrilled to celebrate this year’s honorees and their integral role in building one of the nation’s best business climates.”

The Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards go to businesses that have remained operating for 100 or 50 consecutive years and have a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Century Award winners located in Northern Indiana are:

  • DeMotte State Bank (100 years; Jasper, Newton, Porter and Starke counties)
  • The Ford Meter Box Company Inc. (119 years; Wabash County)
  • Frurip May Funeral Home (100 years; LaGrange County)
  • MedPro Group (118 years; Allen County)
  • Michael Kinder & Sons Inc. (125 years; Allen County)
  • Ottenweller Company (100 years; Allen County)
  • LMC Workholding (101 years; Cass County)

Half Century Award winners in Northern Indiana are:

  • Bowmar (66 years; Allen County)
  • Chester Inc. (70 years; Porter County)
  • Hoosier Racing Tire (60 years; St. Joseph County)
  • Hostetler Tire & Auto Sales (68 years; LaGrange County)
  • Korte Does It All (52 years; Allen County)
  • LaGrange Veterinary Clinic (58 years; LaGrange County)
  • Lewis & Lambright Inc. (62 years; LaGrange County)
  • Metzger Trucking (75 years; Kosciusko County)
  • Northern Cashway (61 years; LaGrange County)
  • Rea Magnet (84 years; Allen County)
  • Wire Company (84 years; Allen County)
  • Robert Weed Plywood (51 years; Elkhart County)
  • Superior Manufacturing Corporation (56 years; Allen County)
  • Tic Toc Trophy Shop (56 years; Fulton County)
  • Umber’s Do It Best Hardware (73 years; Allen County)
