Inventrek Technology Park Back and Better Than Ever

Friday, June 16, 2017

Following heavy damage from tornados across Howard County in 2016, Kokomo, IN’s Inventrek Technology Park recently hosted a grand re-opening.

Following the storms, some businesses that lived in the park were given alternative space in the area while the park was repaired. According to Charlie Sparks, Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance CEO, in a few cases the natural disaster actually served as push for some companies that realized it was time for them to graduate from the park where they began and grow their operations.

The $3.4 million renovation was much more than just a repair job, Sparks says. “The facility presents itself so much better today. Just the appearance of the facility and the enhancements that we’ve made here. It’s a space the community can be proud of.”

Already home to a number of businesses, including the county’s first coworking space and the offices of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance, now that this state-certified tech park is open again and with the renovation as well as the recent move outs, Sparks says new tenants are welcome: “We have quite a bit of square footage available that was not available previously.”
