Familiar Faces in New Places

The Whitley County Economic Development Corporation has named Riley Hollenbaugh as the organization’s new Director of Workforce and Community Development. Previously, Hollenbaugh served as executive director of Saline Main Street in Michigan, which was selected as a top-10 semi-finalist for the 2017 Great American Main Street Award.

Governor Holcomb has named Kay Nelson, Environmental Affairs Director for the Northwest Indiana Forum, to the Indiana Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund Committee. This 11-person committee will establish appropriate procedures for distributing the $40.9 million Indiana is receiving from Volkswagen. These funds are a result of the settlement with Volkswagen Corporation for its violation of the federal Clean Air Act.

The Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana has named Bill Konyha as the organization’s new president. Previously, Konyha was the executive director of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. Prior to that, he was president of the Economic Development Group of Wabash County.

Nearby, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership announced Chad Ruston is now Vice President of Business Development for that organization. Previously, Ruston was a business development professional with Hollister Incorporated. In his new role, Ruston will be responsible for attracting new business to the region and for developing and executing the overall business development strategy to maximize lead generation for the region.
