Project developers have announced that the Digital Crossroads Lake Michigan Data Center campus under construction in Hammond, IN has now secured final funding for the project.

“The goal to establish a new world-class data center in Indiana is now within reach, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Governor Eric Holcomb’s office, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and numerous local officials and financial partners,” said Digital Crossroads CEO Peter Feldman.

The first phase of the project includes a 105,000 sq. ft. data center at a cost of $40 million, with the eventual possibility of expanding to over 1,000,000 sq. ft., $200 million campus on the 77-acre property in the future.

In 2018, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation approved $9 million to help fund the project. The developer has now partnered with New York City-based Star America Infrastructure Partners to help fund the project and Connecticut-based Bank Street to serve as financial advisor.

Bank Street Senior Managing Director Richard Lukaj said there was a strong market demand for this project, and that Indiana has created one of the best business environments in the country.
