Mike Hooper serves as senior vice president of regulatory and legislative affairs and strategy responsible for the company’s regulatory and legislative activities and for formulating NIPSCO’s strategic vision and plans. He assumed his current role in October 2018.
Mike joined NIPSCO in February 2011 and has served as its senior vice president of electric operations and vice president of major projects. Prior to joining NIPSCO, he worked at American Electric Power in various roles within the power generation and capital project management divisions. He began his career in 1995 as a field engineer with Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology (Beckley, W.V.). Additionally, he is a licensed Project Management Professional and a graduate of the Strategic Leadership program from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.
Mike is based at NIPSCO’s legislative office in Indianapolis and at its headquarters in Merrillville, Ind.
