Nick Meyer serves as vice president of Communications and External Affairs for NIPSCO and is responsible for establishing and reinforcing the strategic direction of NIPSCO’s positioning and brand.
He is accountable for developing communications and external relations strategies that result in a more positive customer experience, strengthened community relationships and increased employee engagement. And, he leads a team that drives economic development opportunities, manages crisis events and leads efforts in support of the company’s focus on sustainability, inclusion and diversity and safety.
Prior to joining NIPSCO in 2007, Nick served as a Senior Account Executive in the Consumer Marketing Practice for Weber Shandwick Worldwide in Chicago, one of the world's leading global public relations firms, where he executed strategic public relations initiatives, product launches and the introduction of new advertising campaigns for a number of recognizable national and international consumer brands. Additionally, Nick was an Account Executive in the Consumer Public Relations Division for Margie Korshak Inc. worked as a pit reporter for the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky., served as a spokesperson for the Accenture Chicago Triathlon and was an assistant producer for a Sunday morning community affairs program on WCPO-TV (ABC) in Cincinnati, Oh.
Nick is a graduate of Indiana University and has served on the board of directors for a number of local non-profit organizations. He currently serves as a Town Councilman for the Town of Long Beach, Public Affairs Committee Chairperson for the Indiana Energy Association and member of the Edison Electric Institute’s External Affairs Committee.
Nick is based at NIPSCO’s headquarters in Merrillville, Ind.
