What is New Business?
New Business is any gas and/or electric project that involves New or Upgraded Service.
Where Do I Begin?
Step 1: Download and return the following two forms: (1) NIPSCO Electric/Gas Service Application and (2) Buried Hazard Form. You can return by emailing them to CNB@nisource.com or mailing to: NIPSCO, Business Link, 801 E. 86th Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410 or faxing to 219-647-6500. New customers will also be asked to provide documentation on your company for our records (ie. Legal Name, approved contact information, etc.)

For some businesses, NIPSCO may require additional information to estimate the total energy your business consumes. In those instances, NIPSCO will contact you for more detailed information.
For your convenience, attached below are the NIPSCO requirements for meter location for both gas and electric service installations.

An engineer will contact you to design the system requirements and obtain a cost estimate for you to review. Depending on your service needs you may be:
a.) Considered standard service and have no charge.
b.) Required to put up a construction deposit and/or security deposit.
c.) Required to execute a contract for service to guarantee a minimum annual payment.
Step 3: If required, please submit payment and/or execute 6 year Contract Guarantee.
Step 4: Your New Business request will be processed by the engineer for installation.
