Optimize Your Building’s Systems and Save Energy
Retro-Commissioning (RCx) is the systematic process by which building systems, industrial systems and equipment are optimized to meet existing operational needs. The RCx incentive is designed to help qualified NIPSCO Commercial & Industrial customers determine the energy performance of their facilities and identify energy-saving opportunities in areas such as compressed air and refrigeration. Customers are then rewarded for making energy-efficient upgrades that optimize their existing systems. These incentives live under NIPSCO’s Custom Incentive Program.

Incentives
Incentives are calculated based on how much you’ll save in kilowatt hours (kWh) and/or therms.
- $0.01/kWh RCx study incentive
- $0.10/kWh for electric lighting projects
- $0.12/kWh for electric non-lighting projects
- $1.00/therm for natural gas projects
All projects must be completed by November 16, 2024 to be eligible for current 2024 incentives. Projects submitted after this date are subject to 2025 incentives and requirements.
RCx study Incentive
Retro-commissioning custom electric projects that include an RCx study will be eligible for a separate RCx study incentive that will be paid to the approved RCx providers who complete the study.**
RCx study incentives will be:
- Awarded in addition to the Custom incentive
- Capped at the RCx study cost
- Eligible for only electric RCx measures
- Paid after the installation of RCx electric measures
**Approved RCx providers must be part of the TRC Trade Ally Network. To find an approved RCx provider, contact TRC at 1-800-299-2501 or visit trcsavesenergy.com/TradeAlly/TradeAllySearch*.
