Our voluntary CHOICE® program offers you the option to purchase the natural gas you use from a certified supplier instead of NIPSCO. If you choose to purchase your gas from a different supplier, we will continue to deliver the same reliable service, read your meter, perform safety checks and respond to emergencies.

The prices charged by suppliers are set by a competitive market, meaning there is no guarantee that you’ll save money, but they may offer pricing and special incentives. If you’d like to enroll, shop around and make your CHOICE®.

How to enroll

Review our list of current suppliers below.
Evaluate the offer and compare prices. Suppliers offer various pricing options. Our CHOICE® calculator can help you evaluate pricing options for your gas supply costs.
Consider the contract terms. Since many suppliers require you to agree to contract terms, you’ll want to know contract length and if you can cancel.
Make your CHOICE® by contacting the supplier. If you choose not to participate, we will remain your supplier and there is no change in your bill.

* The CHOICE® program is available to customers who receive service under Rate 311, Rate 315, Rate 321 and Rate 325, and who are in good credit standing with NIPSCO, which, for the purposes of this program, shall be defined as an account that is not in arrears more than 30 days.

Find your current charges

The Detail Charges section of your bill shows your Gas Delivery and Gas Supply Charges. If you participate in CHOICE®, your Delivery Charges will not change but your Supply Charges would change based on the rate provided by your new supplier. Residential Gas Service CHOICE® Program

NIPSCO CHOICE® Year 1 - for customers that were on Residential Gas Service in the last 12 months:

Residential Service is for customers that are not on Residential Gas Service CHOICE®:

NIPSCO current rate to be used when comparing gas pricing alternatives = $0.2548 per therm (inclusive of commodity cost of gas of $0.2366 and other gas cost rate $0.0182)
NIPSCO Interstate Transportation and Storage Charge Residential Gas Service = $0.1222 per therm

NIPSCO's Total Gas Cost = $0.377

General Gas Service CHOICE® Program

NIPSCO CHOICE® Year 1 - for customers that were on General Gas Service in the last 12 months:
