As a NIPSCO customer, we want to inform you that we will be in your area in the coming weeks performing safety inspections. We regularly inspect the gas lines throughout our entire service territory, including neighborhoods like yours, for potential leaks. This is our normal process.
Mobile Inspections
- You may see vehicles equipped with advanced leak detection equipment on the roof driving slowly through your area.
- The vehicle typically drives routes from sunset to sunrise.
- This is our standard process to keep you safe. Please rest assured.
Technician Inspections
- You may see technicians walking about with hand-held equipment, but you do not need to be home.
- Technicians, both company and contractor, will carry official identification.
- At any time, you can ask our employees to show their ID badge.
- If you have concerns, you may call our customer service line to verify an employee's identity.
