Custom Incentive Program

NIPSCO’s Custom Incentive Program offers financial incentives to qualifying large commercial, industrial, non-profit, governmental and institutional customers for installing new energy-saving equipment. The Custom Incentive Program is designed for projects that do not fall under the Prescriptive Incentive Program.

Retro-commissioning, (RCx), which is also a part of the Custom Program, is the process of improving the performance and energy efficiency of building systems, equipment, and operations as a whole. If you are looking to optimize existing equipment in your building, RCx may be just what you’re looking for.

Pre-Approval is required for all Custom and RCx incentives before any equipment is purchased or installed. Incentives will be calculated based on the estimated reduction in kilowatt hours (kWh) and/or therms from implementation of the energy efficiency project. Incentives will be paid out at $0.07/kWh reduced for lighting projects, $0.10/kWh reduced for non-lighting projects, and $1.00/therm reduced for projects involving gas savings.

NIPSCO’s commercial, industrial and non-profit energy efficiency programs are administered by Lockheed Martin Energy, a third-party implementation specialist that helps businesses save energy.
