Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) is pleased to announce the grand reopening of its Gary Business Office at 3229 Broadway on May 17, 2022, complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony to commence at 11:00 a.m. CT.
Customers who prefer to do business in person are invited to visit the walk-in facility and take advantage of the same services offered when calling NIPSCO’s Customer Care Center, such as:
- Obtaining balance and billing information
- Starting, stopping and moving service
- Setting up payment arrangements
- Enrolling in the budget plan
- Acquiring information on energy assistance
- Making payments using cash, check or money orders
“The NIPSCO Gary Business Office has been a staple in the community for many years, offering our customers another convenient option to conduct business,” said Jennifer Montague, NiSource Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. “This
reopening is a significant milestone to further our commitment to continue providing exceptional customer service.”
Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, the walk-in facility was closed in 2020. However, coordinated planning with various NIPSCO teams has been undertaken to ensure a welcoming customer experience.
Visitors entering the University Park Medical Center building and passing through the facility hallways that houses the NIPSCO Gary Business Office are required to wear a mask. Masks are optional for customers and employees while inside the actual NIPSCO
walk-in facility. NIPSCO will follow CDC recommendations and Lake County requirements as it pertains to COVID-19 prevention protocols.
In addition to the opportunity to speak with a NIPSCO representative and conduct transactions in-person, customers in Gary and surrounding areas will have access to other benefits of the
office, such as:
- Convenient entrance and parking options
- Access to the Gary Bus System route
- Proximity to the 80/94 interstate exit and Indiana University Northwest campus
The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday. After business hours, customers can deposit payments in the NIPSCO drop box located to the right of the building’s main entrance.
