Throughout this historic storm response, NIPSCO has been working closely with local officials, emergency management partners and community leaders across Northwest Indiana.
We know that this storm caused unprecedented and widespread damage across our electric system, resulting in extensive outages, broken poles, downed wires, damaged equipment and thousands of individual repairs that must be completed before service can be fully restored. And that is our end goal – fully restoring service to impacted communities and customers.
We do want to note that, working together, we are making progress in this monumental undertaking. We want to thank Governor Mike Braun, his team and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security for their cooperation and collaboration, as we remain focused on getting our communities and customers reconnected. The Indiana State Police and the National Guard have been amazing to work with while helping our crews stay safe. We also thank local law enforcement for their support.
“Superintendent of Indiana State Police Anthony Scott stated that Gov Braun, along with the IN State Police stand committed to supporting Northwest Indiana in a safe and efficient power restoration and will protect employees of the utility and residents in the communities”
Your help has made it possible for us to take significant steps forward during this complex storm response. We again thank our customers and communities for your patience. We are here to help and remain committed to getting the job done.
