Natural Gas: If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, have carbon monoxide symptoms or have some other gas emergency situation, go outside and call 911 and thenour emergency number 1-800-634-3524.

Electric: For any electric emergency including a power outage or other electric-related situation, please call  1-800-464-7726. If you see a downed power line, stay away and immediately call 911 and then our emergency number.

Incentive Programs

NIPSCO also offers programs to support and incentivize development in the communities we serve.

Economic Development Rider 577

This incentive may be offered to new incremental industrial electric loads. It is a three-year discount on the base electric rate. Incentives are awarded based on the tariff.* Offers are contingent upon local and state incentives.

Katie Eaton Chosen to Manage NIPSCO’s Public Affairs and Economic Development Efforts in 6 Northern Indiana Counties
Katie Eaton has been named Manager of Public Affairs and Economic Development for NIPSCO. In this role, Eaton will manage external public affairs and lead the company’s charitable giving efforts in six counties including Elkhart, LaPorte, Marshall, Porter, Starke and St. Joseph.

NIPSCO Announces Completion of $180 Million Pipeline Installation To Serve New Battery Plant in Kokomo
NIPSCO announces the completed installation of nearly 19 miles of new 24” steel gas pipeline that will service the new battery plant in the City of Kokomo with a safe, reliable source of natural gas for the future.

NIPSCO, a subsidiary of NiSource, Advances its Electric Generation Transition Plan with First Set of Solar Projects, Generating 465 MW Combined

In the next step of its electric generation transition to a more balanced and reliable mix to serve customers, Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (NIPSCO), a subsidiary of NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI), today announced that its first two Indiana-based solar projects – Indiana Crossroads and Dunns Bridge I Solar – are online and operating, producing more cost-effective, cleaner energy for homes and businesses across Indiana.

What is really important is how much capacity is available in the natural gas pipe or electric line to serve your load. We evaluate each project independently. Please contact us so that we can analyze your individual requirements.

Are there qualifying criteria to be eligible for an Economic Development Rider?

Yes. The minimum qualifying criteria include: 100 kW new electric load, at least 10 new jobs, and a letter stating the new electric load is considering locations outside of our service territory.
