Learn more about electric and natural gas safety

We’re proud to partner with firefighters, police officers and emergency management officials in our communities. We train hundreds of first responders each year so they know how to react during an emergency.

Safety training

We offer training for local fire departments to learn how to safely respond to natural gas and electric incidents. The sessions include classroom instruction and hands-on training featuring real-world scenarios that first responders are likely to encounter.

Please call 1-800-4NIPSCO to schedule.

Online training and certificate

Firefighters, police and EMTs are typically first on the scene in an emergency and face the greatest risk from natural gas and electrical hazards. Understanding the potential dangers and learning how to deal with them correctly makes everyone safer.
