The undersigned represents that (1) they are authorized to submit this information on behalf of the Customer, and (2) that Customer is requesting that NIPSCO proceed based on the information provided in this Application. (3) Customer/Contractor shall locate, mark, expose and/ or protect all facilities that are not part of the One Call locate System (811), including Customer owned facilities. This includes all public and private, mechanical or electrical facilities. Failure to locate, mark, expose and/or protect such facilities is owned exclusively by the Customer/ Contractor and shall assume full responsibility for any damages, delays, expenses, or additional costs incurred by NIPSCO. Additionally, the Customer/Contractor shall indemnify and hold harmless NIPSCO from any claims, liabilities, damages, expenses or any costs whatsoever arising out of this failure, and shall promptly reimburse NIPSCO for any expenditures necessary to remedy and/or mitigate this failure. Site Requirements
- Site is within 6" of final grade
- Private utilities are marked
- Gas meter location marked or house line piping extended past outside wall, and fuel line stubbed to the outside or a riser bracket (compliant with NIPSCO standard) installed to confirm service location
- Backfill with sand and compact on the foundation side where future gas or electric meters will be located
- Electric entrance must be installed and inspected by the appropriate inspector
- No obstructions between the street and the meter
- All gas and/or electric standards must be met
If you do not meet the requirements, the 10-day cycle will be reset.
