Indiana offers a variety of state and local economic development incentives that may support your project. NIPSCO can help connect you with the right partners to explore available options in the communities you’re considering.
NIPSCO also provides programs that may support new investment within our service territory, including our Economic Development Rider, which offers a potential discount on base electric rates for qualifying new or expanding industrial loads. Eligibility and availability are determined by the tariff and project details.
This incentive may be offered to new incremental industrial electric loads. It is a three-year discount on the base electric rate. Incentives are awarded based on the tariff.* Offers are contingent upon local and state incentives.
We offer energy efficiency incentive programs for qualifying commercial and industrial customers.* These can be combined with the Economic Development Rider to incentivize an expansion or new development.

Yes. The minimum qualifying criteria include: 100 kW new electric load, at least 10 new jobs, and a letter stating the new electric load is considering locations outside of our service territory.
