NIPSCO Public Safety Education and Training Grant

public safetyNIPSCO is accepting applications for its public safety education and training action grant to support local non-profit organizations in northern Indiana. NIPSCO’s Public Safety Education and Training Action Grant aims to provide funding for community and youth public safety education programming and training for first responders.

Areas could include, but are not limited to, areas of damage prevention on underground natural gas lines, Police and Fire Department fire and carbon monoxide safety and child related safety education. Grant funding is not intended for purchase of equipment other than needed to support public safety education programs and training.

Grants are available in the amount of $500 to $5,000. Applications will be accepted through August 10, 2018, with grant awards announced the week of August 27.

Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)3 or other non-profit as determined by the Internal Revenue Service with an environmental project focus and have a direct impact in the NIPSCO service area.

Applications accepted through NIPSCO’s online request portal at NIPSCO.com/Community. When submitting an application online, please select the “Safety Action Grant” option in the Type of Support drop-down box on the application. Creating opportunities for volunteerism is an important part of the grant, in addition to providing monetary support to the organization.
