Prior to his work with NIPSCO, Ransom served as Vice President, Gas Operations for Columbia Gas of Ohio and Virginia. In these roles, Ransom was responsible for emergency response, operations and maintenance of the distribution systems that provide safe, reliable and efficient natural gas service to approximately 1.5 million customers in Ohio and 290,000 customers in Virginia.  

Ransom has more than three decades of experience in the energy industry and has held leadership roles with ComEd and PECO Energy, including oversight of reporting centers, gas and electric distribution centers, operations control, and customer care centers. He prioritizes employee safety and places a strong focus on employee engagement and development. 

Ransom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management/Human Resources from Rosemont College Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and certificates from the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan’s School of Business. 

Ransom is a native of Chicago and is based at NIPSCO’s headquarters in Merrillville, Indiana.
