NOTICE OF 30-DAY FILING
On October 27, 2025, NIPSCO Generation LLC (“GenCo”) and Northern Indiana Public Service Company (“NIPSCO”), individually and collectively, will submit to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for approval under its 30-Day Filing procedures, 170 IAC 1-6-1, et seq., a request for approval of the following two (2) affiliate contracts to become effective on October 27, 2025 to comply with the Stipulation and Settlement Agreement dated May 14, 2025 by and between NIPSCO Generation LLC (“GenCo”), Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (“NIPSCO”), and the NIPSCO Industrial Group (“46183 Settlement”), approved in the Commission’s September 24, 2025 Order in Cause No. 46183 (the “46183 Order”): (1) Service Agreement by and between NIPSCO Generation LLC and Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC; and (2) Service Agreement by and between NiSource Corporate Services Company and NIPSCO Generation LLC. This filing will have no impact to any retail electric utility customers. A decision on the 30-Day Filing is anticipated at least thirty days after the October 27, 2025 filing date. On or about September 25, 2025, Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (“NIPSCO”) will submit to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for approval under its 30-Day Filing procedures, 170 IAC 1-6-1, et seq., a revised Rule 1 – Definitions and Rule 6 – Service Extensions and Modifications of its IURC Electric Service Tariff, Original Volume No. 16 (“Electric Tariff”). The revisions to Rule 1 modify the definition of Gross Margin (Rule 1.40) to include revenues derived from NIPSCO’s Rider 688 – Adjustment of Charges for Transmission, Distribution and Storage System Improvement Charge, Rider 687 – Adjustment of Charges for Federally Mandated Cost, and Rider 695 – Generation Costs Tracker. The revisions to Rule 6 include (1) the addition of a definition of “Applicant” for purposes of Rule 6, (2) modification of Rule 6.4 – New Residential Development Procedures relating to the calculation of margin credits for residential developments with multiple phases, and (3) the creation of Rule 6.6 – Subsequent Connections to combine previous Rules 6.1.3, 6.1.4, 6.2.2, and 6.4.5 to establish procedures for extensions provided under those Rules. A decision on the 30-Day Filing is anticipated at least thirty days after the September 25, 2025 filing date. On or about September 10, 2025, Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (“NIPSCO”) will submit to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for approval under its 30-Day Filing procedures, 170 IAC 1-6-1, et seq., revisions to its Rule 18 – Gas Quality Standards to reflect NIPSCO’s current gas standards in NIPSCO’s IURC Gas Service Tariff, Original Volume No. 10. NIPSCO’s gas quality standards are applicable to all supplies of gas delivered to NIPSCO’s pipeline system for transportation, including supplies of renewable natural gas (“RNG”). The proposed revisions generally fall into three categories. The first category includes proposals that should encourage and facilitate the development of RNG by relaxing or eliminating certain standards, based on evolving science or actual operating experience. The second category consists of clarifications of certain provisions of the rule to avoid confusion concerning their interpretation and application. The final category consists of changes to the existing standards concerning siloxanes and gas temperatures. These changes are needed to prevent harm to the Company’s pipeline system and the gas-burning equipment of its customers. A decision on the 30-Day Filing is anticipated at least thirty days after the September 10, 2025 filing date. On July 3, 2025, Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (“NIPSCO”) and Kankakee Valley Rural Electric Membership Corporation (“Joint Petitioners”), pursuant to Ind.
Code § 8-1-2.3-6(a)(2), jointly petitioned the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (“IURC”) for approval of to modify service area boundaries agreed upon between Joint Petitioners within U.S.G.S. Facet Map G-4 and H-3 in Porter County,
Indiana. Joint Petitioners have agreed to modify certain parts of their respective assigned service area in order to promote economical, efficient and adequate electric service to the public.
